Dr. Matthew S. Langford received his Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Optometric Medicine from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. He completed his internships at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, the Gordon Weiss Vision Institute in La Jolla, and the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. He is Board Certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease with therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (TPA), primary open angle glaucoma, and lacrimal irrigation and dilation.
Dr. Langford practices full-scope optometric medicine and emphasizes early detection of ocular disease such as cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome and macular degeneration. He also co-manages refractive surgery (e.g. Lasik) and fits all types of contact lenses including specialty contact lenses for Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, post-surgical corneas and other corneal diseases.
Dr. Langford is also certified for corneal refractive therapy (CRT), a non-surgical approach to vision correction comparable to LASIK.
He is also a first degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, enjoys playing the guitar and running with his Labradoodle name Leo.
